General Directions (see markers on the route map)

1.) The route starts in the hamlet of Weasdale on the northern edge of the Howgill Fells - turn off the A685 next to the trout farm at Newbiggin-on-Lune and drive about 2.5km along the minor road into Weasdale to park off the road at map ref. NY688037. The route starts here. From the road follow the wall heading south west up the hillside for about 600m to the point where the wall bends away to the left (southeast). From here continue for another 400m towards the ridge of Hooksey and join a quad bike track leading on to the ridge and over the top of Hooksey. Continue along the ridge over the high point (586m) and drop down the end of the ridge to a col or saddle, Leathgill Bridge, at map ref. NY686004 below Randygill Top.

2.) From the Leathgill Bridge saddle, continue straight on up the very steep side of Randygill Top to the cairns on the summit. From the summit of Randygill Top head north east along a ridge on a quad bike track for about 1.5km to the trig point on top of Green Bell (605m), map ref. NY698101.

3.) From the trig point on Green Bell head generally northwards along a quad bike track head down the hillside for about 2.2km until the track is following a wall on the left of the track. Continue along the track with the wall on the left for another 600m to a minor road at map ref. NY693038. At the road turn left to follow the road for about 600m through Weasdale and back to the starting point and the end of the walk.
