The track drops down to cross a small beck and then climbs up over Loskey Ridge before dropping down to cross another beck (the two becks join together downstream to form Loskey Beck). About 100m before the beck the path leaves the track and after crossing the beck it climbs up through the heather for about 450m to the road from Hutton-le-Hole leading to the village of Rosedale Abbey. At the road turn left and walk along the road for about 700m to the top of Rosedale Chimney Bank.

2.) Before the road begins its steep descent of Rosedale Chimney Bank turn right off the road to follow a moorland track heading south east to Ana Cross, about 700m away along the track. Continue along the moorland track past Ana Cross. About 1.7km further on, where the track has bent round to the right to head southwards, the track passes a tumulus called Abraham‘s Hut. 3.) Follow the access road from High Askew farm continuing southwards to the junction at the public road at map ref. SE743900. From this junction follow the road southwards to Lower Askew farm. Just beyond the farm the road bends right and here keep straight on off the road to follow a public footpath along the field boundary to Scarth Wood. Follow the path through the wood and then along the edge of the fields next to the wood to Appleton Mill Farm.

Follow this track for about 1.7km as it bends around the field edges to meet another track at map ref. SE718883.
