Greenwick Dale, Millington, Great Givendale, Bishop Wilton (linear) - 12km
Yorkshire Wolds . . .

Map: OS Explorer 294 Market Weighton & Yorkshire Wolds Central
General Directions (see markers on the route map)
Note: This is a linear walk so you will need transport at both ends of the route.

1.) Start from the lane at map ref. SE858566, next to a small service reservoir by the access road to Wold House farm. There is room to park on the grass verge off the lane. Follow the lane northwest for about 200m to a junction. At the junction take the footpath to the left off the road heading downhill through the woodland. Continue for about 2.5km along the path down the valley and out of the woodland, through the bottom of a steep sided grassy valley to the road at map ref. SE850544.

2.) Cross the road and continue along the path opposite to climb to the top of the wold and follow an ancient earthwork around the edge of the valley to Sylvan Dale. The valley side into Sylvan dale is so steep that there are steps all the way down to the valley floor at map ref. SE844529.

3.) The path here is part of the Wolds Way. Continue on the Wolds Way up out of Sylvan Dale to the top of the wold and follow the edge of the valley to map ref. SE839518 about 100m beyond Warren farm. Here take the path straight down the valley side to the village of Millington.

4.) From Millington follow the road and then the farm access track heading northwest to pass Little Givendale farm and cross Whitekeld Dale to the tiny village of Great Givendale passing the tiny church on the approach to the village.

5.) From Great Givendale follow the road east out of the village on the route of the Minster Way. After about 250m turn right along a farm track and continue along the Minster Way across the fields and then down the hillside to the edge of Bishop Wilton. Follow the road into the village and the end of the walk.
