Go through Bootham Bar into High Petergate and walk along High Petergate for a few metres. Then turn left through an alley to Precentor's Court. Walk along Precentor's Court to Precentor's Close in front of the Minster.

My regular walking companion, Jim, is recovering from a minor operation on his knee so we opted for a short flat route today. It was a gloomy damp sort of day and we drove to the excellent park-and-ride facility on the edge of town and got the bus into the town centre. The walk starts at Bootham Bar in the York City wall.
