General Directions

The walk starts at the public car park at Cow Green Reservoir on the River Tees at map ref. NY 810 309 and follows the public footpath off the road around the reservoir to the Cow Green Dam. Then follows the path by the River Tees down to the Pennine Way and Couldron Snout waterfall. The route then follows the Pennine Way route down stream, past High Force where there is a wonderful view of this magnificent waterfall. About 1km downstream of High Force there is a footbridge across the River Tees. Our route leaves the Pennine way here and crosses the bridge. The route then climbs up to the B6277. On the opposite side of the road is a large car park next to the pub called 'The High Force Hotel' and the end of the route.
