I owe a great deal to my brother-in-law, John, and my sister, Jean, for getting me through a very bad patch in the early 1990's. John took me out walking often twice a week and what a wonderful therapy it is to be out on the open hills with the sounds and sights and scents of the natural world around you. John kept a log of our walks then and this library of walks uses his records of our days on the hills together.
